GL827S  USB 2.0 Single Slot SD/MMC/MS/xD Card Reader Controller

The GL827S is USB 2.0 Single Interface Flash Card Reader controller. It supports USB 2.0 high-speed transmission to Secure DigitalTM (SD), SDHC, Mini SDTM, Micro SDTM (T-Flash), MultiMediaCardTM (MMC), RS MultiMediaCardTM (RS MMC), MMC Plus, MMC Micro, MMC-Mobile , Memory StickTM (MS), Memory Stick DuoTM (MS Duo), High Speed Memory StickTM (HS MS), Memory Stick PROTM (MS PRO), Memory Stick PROTM Duo (MS PRO Duo ), Memory Stick PRO-HGTM (MS PRO-HG), Memory Stick ROM, MS PRO Micro, and xD-Picture Card TM (xD) on one chip. As a single chip solution for USB 2.0 flash card reader, the GL827S complies with Universal Serial Bus specification rev. 2.0, USB Storage Class specification ver.1.0, and flash card interface specification each.

The GL827S can support different kinds of interfaces in single slot and integrates a high speed 8051 microprocessor and a high efficiency hardware engine for the best data transfer performance between USB and flash card interfaces.

The GL827S pin assignment design fits to card sockets to provide easier PCB layout. 48 Pin LQFP (7mm x 7mm) , QFN28 (5mm x 5mm) and QFN24 (4mm x 4mm) are available package types.

GL831A  SATA to PATA Bridge Controller

The GL831A is a cost competitive, standard SATA/PATA bi-directional bridge controller that compliant to the latest SATA and PATA specifications. The controller integrates Genesys Logic in-house designed SATA PHY that guarantee lowest power consumption and proven system/device compatibility.  GL831A’s on-chip PLL implements slew-rate control mechanism to reduce the EMI issue on PCB level.  A 3.3V to 1.8V power regulator is built-in to reduce system bill-of-material (BOM) cost.  Smaller footprint package - 64-pin LQFP (7x7mm) is available for flexible PCB layout of space limited mechanics such as MID/UMPC applications.

GL850G USB 2.0 Hub Controller

The GL850G is Genesys Logic’s advanced version Hub solutions which fully comply with Universal Serial Bus Specification Revision 2.0.  GL850 inherits Genesys Logic’s cutting edge technology on cost and power efficient serial interface design.  GL850G has proven compatibility, lower power consumption figure and better cost structure above all USB2.0 hub solutions worldwide.

GL850G provides multiple advantages to simplify board level design that help achieve lowest BOM (bill of material) for system integrator.  GL850G integrated both 5V to 3.3V and 3.3V to 1.8V voltage drop regulator into single chip, therefore no external LDO required. Also, GL850G’s power enable pin supports both high-enable and low-enable power switch that provides better flexibility on component selection. 

To fully meet the cost/performance requirement, GL850G is a single TT hub solution for the cost requirement. Genesys Logic also provides GL852 for multiple TT hub solution to target on systems which require higher performance for full/low-speed devices, like docking station, embedded system … etc.. *TT (transaction translator) is the main traffic control engine in an USB 2.0 hub to handle the unbalanced traffic speed between the upstream port and the downstream ports.
